High strength N52 4mm diameter x 2mm strong Neodymium magnets ensure your models stick to the tray. This is the recommended strength to ensure your models stay where you put them.
if you have a particularly heavy model please use more than one magnet to secure safely to the tray.
Step-by-Step Guide to Gluing Magnets onto Bases
Follow these steps to ensure your magnets are securely attached to your model bases for optimal performance with MiniMagTRAYs.
- Prepare Your Models:
- Place all your models in foam with their bases facing upwards. This will make it easier to apply the magnets.
- Apply the First Layer of Glue:
- Add a small drop of super glue to one corner of each base. Be careful not to use too much to avoid excess glue spreading.
- Place the Magnet:
- Carefully place a magnet onto the glue so it touches as many surfaces of the base as possible. Ensure it’s firmly in contact with the base.
- Let the Glue Dry:
- Allow the glue to dry for at least 1 hour. This initial drying time is crucial for a strong bond.
- Add a Second Layer of Glue:
- Once the first layer is dry, add another layer of glue around the magnet. This helps secure the magnet and prevent it from coming loose.
- Final Drying Time:
- IMPORTANT: Do not place the models on a tray right after gluing. Wait at least 24 hours to avoid white glue stains on your trays and ensure the glue is fully cured.
By following these steps, you’ll ensure your magnets are properly attached and ready to use with your MiniMagTRAYs. Happy gaming!
Neodymium Magnets whilst being magnetically permanent and more powerful than other magnet types are also:Â
– Hard and brittle, if allowed to jump to steel or other magnets they will likely shatter (consider using Alnico magnets).
– Unsuitable for use in wet or damp conditions, they will rapidly degrade (consider using “Ferrite” magnets).
– Unsuitable for children, are not toys
